Announcements for this week:

Flowers placed in the sanctuary:by Charles and Shirley Wilson in celebration of Shirley’s birthday and their 51st wedding anniversary.

VBS Clinic: Mark your calendars! VBS training will be held at Dawson St. Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 21st at 6:30 p.m. The training will be age specific with special conferences. If you are interested in teaching VBS this year, please come. There are so many ideas and information provided, it would benefit even the most seasoned teachers!

New Policy for Hanging Things on Walls of Church:

We will use only Magic Mounts mounting tabs to hang anything on the walls of the church. This keeps the walls clean without oily residue or glue left from tape. These mounting tabs have been placed in the resource room for your convenience. Please let the church secretary know when the supply has been depleted.

Men’s Fellowship: will be held on Thursday, April 30th at 7:00 p.m. All men are invited to attend.

Bridal Shower: honoring Jenna Wilcox will be held on Sunday, May 3rd at 2:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.All ladies of the church are invited to attend.

Just a reminder that we will not be having Financial Peace University this Sunday, to give our members time to spend Easter with their families.

New Policy for Hanging Things on Walls of Church:

We will use only Magic Mounts mounting tabs to hang anything on the walls of the church. When you need to hang something, please see a staff member for the tabs or come by the church office during regular business hours to get them.

Benevolence Offering: will be taken at both services again today for those who did not have the opportunity to give last Sunday.

TCBA Sunday School Mentoring: will be held at GCBC tomorrow night, April 13th.Light supper begins at 6:30 p.m. and training begins at 7:00 p.m.

I hope you have read the book that the church has offered in the vestibule; Faith, Given Once. by Chuck Colson.

I believe that many of the precepts discussed within those pages need to be much more widely disseminated to the Christians in America today. I believe we would do well to spend more time learning about the Faith, its history and impact, how denominations can work together, and how we need to engage our culture and change our world, for God and for good!

To this end, we are going to offer the study as a discipleship training course within the next few months. Please consider whether you should participate, watch out for the dates and times as this is formed. Also, I would highly recommend the book, Colson has proven himself to be an innovative voice within the culture war Arena. His well-known journey has led him from power to prison in his miraculous deliverance. His ministry to some of the darkest corners of the Universe has earned him a great deal of credibility, and his gifted insights are well and logically presented in a way that can and should change the way all of us engage our community for Christ.
