VBS Clinic: Mark your calendars! VBS training will be held at Dawson St. Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 21st at 6:30 p.m. The training will be age specific with special conferences. If you are interested in teaching VBS this year, please come. There are so many ideas and information provided, it would benefit even the most seasoned teachers!
Message about the Nursery: We need volunteers to help in the nursery. Our current volunteer list is very short and we need more help. Please prayerfully consider how God may use you in this service. What a blessing you will be for the children and parents and what a blessing you will receive! Please see Mrs. Mary Lee as soon as possible to sign up.
Easter lily order: Easter lilies will be available to place in the Sanctuary in honor or memory of a loved one. The cost is $13. You must order by March 30th. Use order form on insert or see Manda VerSluis to order or for more information.
Fifth Sunday Fellowship: There will be a brown-bag lunch immediately after morning worship at the Butler-Mason YMCA on Remington Ave. Drinks will be provided by the church. There are some tables and chairs located on the inside. Eating is allowed in the gym area—you will have to sit on the bleachers, floor or bring your own chair. You can also sit outside (there are no picnic tables). There will be a basketball game immediately after lunch. There is a game room with ping pong tables and a pool table. Assorted board games will be available to play. The swimming pool and gymnastics room are off limits. We have use of the YMCA until 4:00 p.m. There will be no evening worship.
Easter Egg Hunt: The Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 11th starting at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Lunch will be provided at noon. We need helpers, if you are interested in hiding eggs, bringing sides or desserts or helping guide the age specific hunts, please see someone from the Children’s Committee.
To make all the local dentists happy, we are asking for donations of candy for our Easter Egg Hunt. We need candy (no chocolate please) and plastic eggs.
2009 Missions Encounter (formerly State WMU Conference): This inspirational missions event for all Georgia women will be held April 17-18 at First Baptist Church, Thomasville. Special Guests will be: Kaye Miller, National WMU President; Gordon Fort, IMB Vice President of Overseas Operations; Belinda & Lonnie Riley, Directors of Meridzo Center Ministries, Inc. NAMB/Appalachian Regional Ministries. Registration forms are available in Lydia’s Lounge.
New Policy for Hanging Things on Walls of Church:
We will use only Magic Mounts mounting tabs to hang anything on the walls of the church. When you need to hang something, please see a staff member for the tabs or come by the church office during regular business hours to get them.
Notice: You can see painting being done in the Fellowship Hall. Please be mindful to help keep these walls free of dents, dings and dirt. With your help, we can keep the Fellowship Hall looking nice!
