GCBC Women’s Ministry Meeting: Thursday, May 19th 6:30 PM @ GCBC Fellowship Hall.  This is the last meeting until August 18th.  Please call Lisa Duncan @ 403-9714 or Dana Rollins @ 224-1943 if you have any questions.

Graduate Recognition Service:  Sunday (5/15) at 6:00 pm  Reception to follow.  Please bring finger food—cake & drinks provided.

Vacation Bible School (VBS):  July 1oth – 14th

We need teachers—Nursery through 6th grade.

If you are interested in helping in any capacity, please see Sheilah Smith or Morgan Bass.

If you are interested in volunteering in the nursery during the worship service, please see Trena Gibbs.

Covered dish lunch on Sunday, May 29th, following the morning worship service.  Immediately after lunch, there will be a Pantry Shower for Ricky & PJ Holder.  There will be no evening worship service.

Children’s Committee will be hosting a yard sale on Saturday, May 14th, at GCBC, from 8 am until noon, to raise money for Camp Winshape.  Donations for the yard sale can be placed in the unoccupied room behind the 30’s Sunday School class and, if possible, priced accordingly.  If you have any questions, please see Lindsay Clay.

Flowers in the sanctuary today are given by Charles & Anne Willlingham in memory of their mothers and in celebration of all mothers on Mother’s Day.

Worship Committee is looking for additional help for Children’s Worship on Sunday mornings.  If you can commit for four consecutive weeks each quarter to assist with crowd control, art and recreational activities, contact Sheilah Smith or Richard Hughes.

On May 11th and 12th, Union Grove Baptist Church, 2293 Old Pelham Rd., Pelham, Ga, will have a semi-trailer available to collect supplies for tornado victims. Supplies needed:  bottled water, sports drinks, blankets, non-perishable snacks, baby diapers and formula, etc.  Union Grove also needs volunteers to help receive, sort & load supplies on the 12th.

VBS News:  Associational VBS Teacher Training at Dawson Street Baptist Church; Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 6:30 pm (Light supper served)

One of the pressing issues for our new youth pastor and his family will be to find immediate housing at an affordable price. We are trying to gather a few options for them in this important area.  If any of our church  members have any ideas/resources regarding this challenge, please contact Richard Hughes @ 225-6084.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt—Saturday, April 16th, 10 am—12 noon.  Please help us by bringing candy-filled Easter Eggs (no chocolate please).  There is a box in the Fellowship Hall for donations.
